AMR Industry Alliance Releases New Report Inspiring Action: The Impact of and Recommendations on Including Diagnostics in National Action Plans

  07 May 2024

The AMR Industry Alliance has released a report highlighting the importance of diagnostics in national action plans (NAPs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The report, based on the Global Database for Tracking Antimicrobial Resistance (TrACSS) and the WHO Library of NAPs, found that successful projects incorporated diagnostics in countries like Tanzania, Ghana, India, and Pakistan. The report also recommends that diagnostics should be included in NAPs due to their role in good stewardship, political commitment, real-world experience, engagement in non-governmental sectors, and further investment in diagnostics.
